Kujawsko-Pomorska Sieć Informacyjna Sp. z o.o. was founded in 2002 by the authorities of Kuyavian and Pomeranian Voivodeship, Nicholas Copernicus University in Torun, College of Technology and Agricultural in Bydgoszcz (now University of Technology and Life Sciences) and Medical College in Bydgoszcz. The main objective established for our activities was to stimulate development of the information society in the area of Kuyavian and Pomeranian Voivodeship. Execution of that objective was possible due to the financial support, including European Union subsidies, for the projects related to the information society. In the first year of our operation we implemented a pilot program for town network in the city of Włocławek, which formed a basis for further development of the broadband infrastructure. We created a regional broadband network covering the whole Kuyavian and Pomeranian Voivodeship under another project in the years 2004-2008. Currently, using our infrastructure, we provide various transmission and hosting services. |
